About Jasmin Sethi

Jasmin Sethi helps financial companies thrive in highly regulated markets. Through her consulting firm, Sethi Clarity Advisers, she works with clients to improve efficiency in compliance using AI, identify opportunities in regulated sectors such as retirement plan access, and align business strategies with evolving government and philanthropic policy goals. Since founding Sethi Clarity Advisors in 2018, she has advised on regulatory issues in the asset management space, product design, regulatory interpretation, compliance automation via AI, and investor education.

Jasmin serves on the SEC Small Business Capital Formation Advisory Committee and FINRA’s Market Regulation Committee, showcasing her regulatory insight.

Jasmin has over 10 years of experience with regulations in the fund industry. As a regulator at the SEC, she worked on the rules relating to the listing and the approval of exchange-traded products. Subsequently, she conducted extensive research and writing to educate policymakers, institutional, and retail investors as part of BlackRock’s global legal and compliance team. For seven years at Morningstar, she focused on investor protection, drafting comment letters to regulators on issues including fund disclosures, investment advisor rules, conflicts of interest, AI, accredited investor definitions, and digital engagement practices. Her work with Morningstar bridged the gap between policy and data made available by agencies, such as the SEC, and the research and ratings methodologies utilized to inform retail investors.

As a blind South Asian woman, Jasmin is committed to the accessibility of information, and the financial empowerment of all demographic groups. She holds a JD and PhD in Economics from Harvard University. She is a Fulbright Scholar, magna cum laude graduate of Harvard College, and recipient of the Philadelphia Business Journal’s 2023 “Most Admired CEO” award. Jasmin Sethi is admitted to the New York bar. In her free time, she enjoys tandem biking, wine tasting, and travel.
